Supernova 2020fqv is located in the Galaxy NGC4568 which is 59 million light-years from Earth. At the time of capture SN2019yvq was at magnitude 15.

NGC 4568 is in the process of merging with NGC 4567, these galaxies are also known as the Siamese Twins. This image also features NGC 4564, which is 57 million light-years from Earth.
